Bhupendra Patel Elected New Chief Minister Of Gujarat
BJP’s MLA Bhupendra Patel has been announced as the new Gujarat’s Chief Minister. Patel is an MLA from Ghatlodia seat earlier held by Anandiben Patel.
This happened after BJP’s Vijay Rupani suddenly resigned from his post as chief minister of Gujarat on Saturday. After Rupani resigned, several names were on the list, but in the end, Bhupendra Patel was chosen by BJP. According to some sources, his name was also proposed by CM Vijay Rupani.
Bhupendra Patel has been chairman of, Standing Committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and also Chairman, Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). He had also served as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
Bhupendra Patel had won with the largest margins of 1,17,000 votes against Shashikant Patel from the Congress in the last Assembly polls.
