Navratri 2021: Nine Colors Of Navratri and their importance.
The Shardiya Navratri festival will begin today. It is a great festival of faith and devotion. The temples of goddess Durga have been decorated across the nation. Devotees celebrate this day by decorating homes, keeping fasts, and visiting the goddess Durga temple. Every day is devoted to different forms of Matarani and worshiped accordingly.
The word ‘Navratri’ in Sanskrit denotes ‘nine nights'. For the 9 days ‘Nine Forms of goddess Durga' is worshipped. It is believed that devotees who worship the goddess Durga during these days will not experience any grief. Each day of the Navratri is devoted to an incarnation of Ma Durga. The first day is dedicated to Goddess Shailputri, then Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skanda, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri on the ninth day. Each incarnation of Maa Durga is also associated with a particular color.
Day-1
The first day of Navratri is falling on Thursday and is devoted goddess Shailputri. Wearing yellow color on this day is considered favorable, which is said to bring brightness, joy, and cheer to our lives.
Day-2
The second day of Navratri is dedicated goddess Brahmacharini. Wearing green color on this day is considered lucky, which is said to bring growth, harmony, and new energy into life.
Day-3
The third day of Navratri is dedicated to the third form of goddess Durga, Goddess Chandraghanta. Her favorite color is Grey and wearing grey color is said to bring positivity in life and determination to destroy the evil within us.
Day-4
The fourth day of Navratri is devoted goddess Kushmanda. She is also known as the "smiling goddess" and that is why Wearing orange color on this day is considered auspicious and brings happiness in life.
Day-5
The fifth day of Navratri is dedicated to the goddess Skanda. Wearing white color on this day is considered auspicious. This color represents purity, peace, meditation, and innocence.
Day-6
The third day of Navratri is dedicated to the sixth form of goddess Durga, Goddess Katyayani. Her favorite color is Red. This color depicts the anger of the Goddess Katyayani towards the enemies and fearlessness.
Day-7
The third day of Navratri is devoted to the Goddess Kalratri. Wearing Royal Blue color on this day is considered favorable, which brings happiness, prosperity, and good health.
Day-8
The third day of Navratri is dedicated to the Goddess Mahagauri. This day is associated with Pink which signifies hope, feminine attraction, self-refinement, and social upliftment.
Day-9
The ninth and the last day of Navratri is devoted to the Goddess Siddhidatri. This day is associated with the color Purple. Therefore, you can wear clothes of purple color. This color signifies passion and power.
