The Most Powerful MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max is here

Apple unveils the much-awaited and most powerful MacBook Pro. It comes in two sizes, a new 14-inch model and a 16-inch model. These new MacBooks are powered by all-new M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets.


Display


The all-new MacBook model comes with two new displays, a 14.2 inch (diagonal) mini-LED backlit display, and a 16.2 inch (diagonal) mini-LED backlit display. MacBook Pro with 14-inch display has 3024 by 1964 pixels and MacBook with 16-inch display has 3456 by 2234 pixels. Both have up to 1000 nits sustained (full-screen) brightness with wide color (p3), true tone technology, and ProMotion technology for adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz.


M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets


Apple's M1 Pro chip has Up to 10-core CPU with 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores, Up to 16-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine, and 200GB/s memory bandwidth. Apple declares that the new chip is capable of delivering 70 percent faster CPU performance and up to two times faster GPU performance over the existing Apple's M1 chip. The M1 Pro chip also adds a ProRes accelerator in the media engine to enhance on-device video processing.

 

Apple's M1 Max chip, on the other hand, has a 10-core CPU with 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores, Up to 32-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine, and 400GB/s memory bandwidth, which is two times that of Apple's M1 Pro chip and approximately six times that of Apple's M1 chip. Apple has also given up to 64GB of unified memory to attract professionals and 3D artists.

Camera

The all-new MacBooks have a 1080p facetime HD camera advanced image signal processor with computational video. Together with a bigger image sensor that has more efficient pixels, the camera performs two times better lowlight performance.



Better Keyboard 

The new MacBook Pro (2021) models also come with a Magic Keyboard that replaces the earlier Touch Bar with physical function keys and a wider escape key. You will also get Apple's Force Touch trackpad.


Battery Life

Talking about the battery life, the 14-inch MacBook Pro (2021) is considered to deliver up to 17 hours of video playback on a single charge, while its 16-inch counterpart delivers up to 21 hours of video playback. Apple states that using the new MacBook Pro models, developers working in Xcode will be able to compile up to four times as much code and photographers on the go will get up to two times longer battery life in Adobe Lightroom Classic when editing images.

Prices


In India, the 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at a whopping price of Rs. 194900 while the 16-inch starts at Rs 239900. They are available for order on Apple online store today and will arrive and become available in retail stores on Tuesday, October 26.
