Instagram Testing Monthly Subscription Priced At Rs 89 For Exclusive Content
Meta-owned social media application Instagram has been testing a subscription plan which is expected to be similar to Twitter Blue where fans can get access to exclusive content. It looks like the company is now readying the launch of this feature according to Instagram’s App Store listings on iOS.
Instagram is planning to add a subscriptions feature that might benefit creators on social media platforms. With the rollout of creator subscriptions plans, viewers may have to pay to see Stories or access other content or media from creators on the Meta-owned application. Instagram Subscriptions is expected to be similar to Twitter Blue where fans can get access to exclusive content.
According to a report by TechCrunch, a new “Instagram Subscriptions” category can be seen under the “In-App Purchases” section for the Instagram App Store listing. Instagram Subscriptions are priced at Rs 89 per month, though keep in mind this might not be the final price when the service goes active or live
The new subscription option is visible along with Instagram Badges that users can buy to gift creators during live sessions.
Instagram's Apple App Store listing in the US and India now shows an Instagram Subscriptions category under the In-App Purchases section, indicating future Instagram paid subscriptions. Some people also confirmed on social media application Twitter that the new in-app purchase option also appeared in the United Kingdom.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri had also confirmed that the company is exploring subscriptions plans on the platform earlier this year. Instagram Subscription plans are assumed to be similar to Twitter Blue where fans can get access to exclusive tweets and other content. Similarly, Instagram is expected to make specific content available only for subscribers. And Instagram has been testing a similar feature for some months now.
