WhatsApp Web Allows Sending And Receiving Messages Without Keeping Your Phone Online.

People around the globe now can use WhatsApp for multiple devices without keeping their phones active or online.

Earlier, people needed to keep their phones active in order to use the WhatsApp Web application on their laptops, desktops, and tablets. But from now on, users can use WhatsApp Web on multiple devices while keeping their phones active. The feature is now rolling out to users across Android and IOS devices.

This feature is labeled still in Beta and allows only up to 4 devices at the same time. WhatsApp Users need to opt-in for the feature that is still labeled as in “Beta" from the ‘Linked Devices’ setting in WhatsApp. Once allowed, users will be unlinked from all devices before re-linking a new device, and then it will work as it has been since earlier.  

Now, linked devices will be able to receive and send messages up to 14 days after the smartphone goes offline. This could be useful in a situation where the smartphone is misplaced and one needs to stay in touch, or if the battery of your smartphone runs out, your WhatsApp Web will still keep running.
